Padang, West Sumatra – The Indonesian Management Doctoral Program Management Association (APDMI) chaired by Prof. Dr. Tanti Handriana successfully held a series of prestigious events including an international conference, colloquium, and community service for three full days, from September 26 to 28, 2024. This activity was attended in a hybrid manner by around 250 academics and researchers from various universities in Indonesia.
The event began with an international conference held on September 26, 2024 at the Convention Hall of Andalas University, Padang, as the peak of the opening of the event. With the main theme "Managing Sustainable Business and Resilience Strategies in the Digital Era," this conference aims to encourage synergy between the academic and practical worlds in the field of management.
The first day began with a solemn and enthusiastic opening at the Convention Hall, Andalas University. The leadership of Andalas University gave a warm welcome to the participants and speakers, which was then continued with a seminar with speakers from several foreign universities such as University of Foreign Studies, UNSW Business School, University of Queensland, Australia.
The first day of the seminar was closed with a performance of the traditional Minangkabau dance, Tari Piring, and continued with the presentation of souvenirs to the speakers by the Chairperson of APDMI, Prof. Dr. Tanti Handriana who is the Chairperson of the Doctoral Program in Management Science, FEB, Airlangga University.
Inspiring Colloquium and Call for Papers
The second day on September 27, 2024, the event continued with presentations Call for Papers and a colloquium held in a hybrid manner at Prince Hotel, Padang. Academics from various universities in Indonesia presented their research results, covering various themes in the field of management, including financial management, human resources, and marketing.
The presentations were a means for researchers to gain feedback from experts and fellow academics. The discussions were enthusiastic, reflecting the researchers’ passion for developing management studies that are relevant to the challenges of today’s business and organizational world.
In the evening at the end of the second day, the award recipients were announced. Best Paper which is awarded to the best research assessed based on its originality, relevance, and contribution to the development of management science.
Community Service: Supporting Coffee SMEs and Border Entrepreneurs
As the culmination of the APDMI 2024 series of events, on September 28, a community service activity was held which was a real manifestation of the contribution of academics in supporting local economic development. This activity was held in Bukittinggi
In this service, APDMI visited border entrepreneurs and coffee entrepreneurs. The main focus of this activity is to provide training and assistance to entrepreneurs related to marketing strategies and financial management, which are expected to help them improve product competitiveness in national and international markets.
In addition to providing materials, APDMI also provides assistance to entrepreneurs as a form of real support for the growth of their businesses. This assistance is expected to spur the spirit of MSME actors in Bukittinggi to continue to develop and compete in a wider market.
