Community service activities that focus on Human Resources Management (HR) in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have been successfully implemented at Griya Khadijah, namely the education program for prospective Hafidzah students who have morals and an entrepreneurial spirit. This event was organized by the Department of Management, Faculty of Economics and Business, Airlangga University on Saturday, 2 October 2023. The main speaker in this activity was Mr. Zainul Musthofa, MBA, one of the Management lecturers with a concentration in HR Management.
In his material, Mr. Zainul Musthofa said that MSMEs have a very important role in the Indonesian economy. They not only create jobs, but also support the sustainability of the local economy. However, one of the biggest challenges faced by MSMEs is effective HR management.
Mr. Zainul Musthofa explained that HR Management in MSMEs involves several important aspects, including:
- Recruitment and Selection: MSMEs must be able to identify the talents and skills required in their teams. A good recruitment and selection process will help ensure that they have quality human resources.
- Employee Development: Investing in employee training and development is key to improving the quality of human resources. MSMEs need to provide training that is relevant to their business needs.
- Motivation and Retention: MSMEs must understand what motivates their employees and create a conducive work environment. This will help prevent high employee turnover.
- Performance Management: Regular performance evaluations help MSMEs identify areas that need improvement and reward employees who perform well.
Apart from that, Mr Zainul Musthofa also highlighted the importance of good work ethics in MSMEs. He emphasized that MSMEs that are committed to the values of integrity and ethics will find it easier to build good relationships with customers and business partners.
