FEB Unair Management Students Become Indonesian Delegates at the Harvard Asia Conference in Kazakhstan

UNAIR Management 2020FEB Unair Management students are again taking part at the international level, represented by Haflan Alfiri Widrayat (Management 2017) at the Harvard event College Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR) in Nur-Sultan (Astana), Kazakhstan on August 16-20 2019. This event is a routine activity organized by HPAIR.

Based on source from Riau Post, covering for Caltex Riau Polytechnic students, this activity was established in 1991 to create an exchange forum for students and young professionals to discuss and learn about the most important economic, political and social issues facing the Asia-Pacific region. Since 1991, HPAIR has hosted 43 conferences in 12 different host countries, touching the lives of more than 10.000 students and young professionals.

HPAIR hosts two student-led conferences a year. One at Harvard campus and the other in Asia-Pacific In 2019, HPAIR was held in Nur-Sultan (Astana), Kazakhtan. This activity will be divided into six thematic tracks consisting of: social policy and justice; arts, media, & Culture; governance & geopolitics; science & technology; energy & environmental sustainability; and global markets & economy.

This year the number of Indonesian delegates who took part in HPAIR 2019 was eight people from Gajah Mada University, University of Indonesia, Airlangga University, Diponegoro University, Parahyangan University and Caltex Polytechnic. Riau.

The speakers who were the speakers at HPAIR 2019 were Chatib Basri -former Minister of Finance of Indonesia, Nobel Peace Prize laureate Rae Kwon Chung. Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Ashikbayev, Mayor Nur-Sultan Altay Kulginov and other representatives of government structures and NGOs.(rls/fas)
